Pembrokeshire Advocacy's Annual General Meeting

Pembrokeshire Advocacy held its sixth Annual General Meeting on Thursday 23rd October 2008 which also celebrated ten years of Pembrokeshire Advocacy.  At this meeting our President, Paul Davies, Assembly Member for Preseli, Pembrokeshire and Shadow Minister for Culture, Welsh Language and Sport, gave an interesting and enthusiastic address regarding our last ten years activity and the importance of advocacy for people with learning disabilities.

A storyboard illustrating one of our advocacy partnerships demonstrated to all who attended our AGM just what a difference advocacy can make to someone's life. Thank you to Daniel Backhouse (artist) for working with Sheila Morgan and our client to produce this wonderful record of a successful story.

Pete Irvine is returning to work with us on December 2nd after being seconded for a year to Action for Advocacy as their Standards Support Officer for Wales. We look forward to working with him again.

Citizen Advocacy   Sheridan Hayward and Sarah Adolphus have joined Linda Leonard as Citizen Advocates. Sheridan is currently supporting two people who are undertaking All Wales People First's Learning for Leadership Course.  We hope to be able to offer this training ourselves in Pembrokeshire next year.
